I'm surprised, that is 180 km/h. 200 km/h would be 125 mph (aprox) and would seem more reasonable, and more than enough. 150 km/h is not an unreasonable cruising speed and and you would need some reserve.

The laws actually exist to allow a limit of 150 km/h in Italy though it has not been applied to any Autostrada. It could be permitted on a three lane Autostrada with a breakdown lane if requested by the Autostrada authority.

Not a lot of point now. Some sections of road in Germany and the Northern Territory of Australia are about all that is left with no speed limits. Other than under controlled conditions or brief periods on a completely deserted highway more than about 150 km/h is not really justified IMHO.
