Totally agree. it was that old, complacent idea that loyal customers would remain just that, even in the face of terrible products and old fashioned thinking.

Funnily enough, it's always seemed to me that the car which really was 'the writing on the wall for BLMH was the Datsun 240Z which showed that with careful thinking it WAS possible to have a car which combined the very best of traditional performance with modern up to date aspects

Less amusingly ( and very much related to your earlier comment about the V8 Stag engine.) a mate of mine bought one last year. he's had a couple before and knows his way around them. Last week he needed to do a few jobs on it and it rapidly became apparent that one of the heads had to come off. Evetually it did- leaving behind four snapped head bolts!
