I now understand why it's difficult to get out. There is a wide sill above seat level, so you have to levitate your body weight over the sill. With the hood on this can't be done elegantly - even when you're a shorty like me.
Yes - thats what gives the tub it's rigidity and the car it's handling. It's not too difficult to get in the drivers side ( slide left leg into the footwell and fall in bum first), but a bit harder to get out. The worst is the passenger side where you dont have the steering wheel to lever against. Not overwhelming problems - just techniques you have to learn.
But did you try driving them? Thats the selling point.
Just come back from doing a circuit training day with Lotus at Hethel. 200 miles there across country, day round their track and 200 miles back. Mostly roof off so great fun and surprisingly comfortable. On our traffic infested roads it would have been quicker by motorbike or more relaxed by Volvo saloon but I still enjoyed thrashing the Lotus.
Surprisingly similar in fun level to driving the trad Sportser but a bit more practical. Good seats for touring - have taken mine down to Spain. And reliable Toyota engine..
