Well. I called at the Lotus Dealer (JCT600) this morning. Also agents for Ferrari, Maserati and Aston Martin, so you can imagine what the showroom is like. The coffee was excellent by the way in real cups'n'saucers.
I went to snout around two cars - a Europa in Accountant Grey, and an S/C Elise in Isotope Green. They couldn't be further apart on the 'blend in' spectrum. My key question was to look at the luggage space close up, and compare. My thinking is to have a bad weather option when it's too wet for the Morgan - for weekends away and touring. What I found was surprising. It's the first time I've sat in an Elise as far as I can recall. I now understand why it's difficult to get out. There is a wide sill above seat level, so you have to levitate your body weight over the sill. With the hood on this can't be done elegantly - even when you're a shorty like me. I'd read that the Europa has lower sills, but if that's true, you don't notice. So what it comes down to for me is trading off luggage space for a removeable roof. At the moment what's swaying my thoughts is that the Isotope Green Elise looks utterly fabulous, and I'm now wondering...... maybe the removeable roof is a better option. But then, the Morgan is much easier to get in and out of.... so I'm back thinking about another Morgan.

Next I jumped on the M62/M18/M180......Phil Ledgerwood has just got in the bright orange Roadster which I believe was the 05 Geneva car......... Another awesome colour scheme. If only I was looking to buy, but another (second) Roadster would be stupid. So for now I must reflect on this conundrum a bit more.

A great morning out though - arrived home at 1400hrs.
