Holy thread revival Batman!
I’d forgotten about this thread. An update might be in order for those who contributed 18 months ago.
Pre COVID I had got to the point of doing most of what I said I would, ie, new hard chrome king pins, new bushes (thanks Arwen, I haven’t forgotten), new damper blade assemblies and PTFE bushes along with AVOs front and rear. These resulted in massively improved ride and handling but with a little ‘striction’’ in the front uprights, as suggested as a potential downside above. The thinking was that getting a few miles under the tyres might ease things off. Then COVID struck and I did less than 200 miles all year.
A short time ago I managed to acquire a used but cared for front SSL kit (thanks Roger) at a very decent price which is sitting in my garage.
I intend to continue using the car as it currently is for at least 1000 miles then fit the SSL kit to see how it compares. I’m sure I can swap them over in a day so it will something to do on a miserable day in the summer!
