Absolutely love my M3W - it's fantastic visceral fun and a great life experience, despite some issues that still need to be sorted - now mostly well documented.
My bevel box was quite noisy when car was new, but at 2,500 miles has got gradually quieter and quieter although it's still there in the background. There was no suddenly getting quieter at 1,000 miles - it's happened gradually, so must be due to a 'running-in' process which would suggest that little bits of swarf are now in the BB oil, so an oil change seems sensible to me.
Tried a recent demonstrator for a brief drive and that had a very noisey BB compared with mine, so I was (sort of) pleased! This car's BB was significantly noisier than mine had ever been, so the issue certainly seems to be unresolved (this was a pretty recent car with the relocated gearchange, which I didn't personally like as much as the original).
