How soon can I expect my three year old Plus 4 to fall apart? Seems pretty well-made to me. It’s had a good look-over by Tecniques who found a badly routed brake cable, but other than that it’s taken everything I’ve thrown at it. Can’t deny the quality of the footwell carpets is rather unsatisfactory but hey, it’s a Morgan!
My previous Roadster had done almost 50k miles at 14yrs old, never let us down, 2 or 3 sets of pads, one set of discs, original rear brakes (except cyls), no electrical or ECU issues, had to sort a minor radiator leak at 10yrs but easy as it was a proper brass one, I hated the 'plastic' king pin bushes, but some love 'em, eventually the rear shocker brackets failed (known issue) oh, and the hydraulic brake switch
It was meticulously maintained & was checked over before and after every run out as prevention is better than a failure
The metallic paint stayed in superb condition
Many items were 'upgraded' over the 11 years of ownership, but I do that with all my classics and consider it part of the cost of ownership
If the new 3.7 last as well, I'll be very happy
