Even when a driving position needs to be regularly adjusted, the whole electric memory business seems such a heavy and complex solution to what is essentially a simple problem. Would it not be more efficient to just have some adjustable mechanical stops that can be used? Jane and I both drive the Fiat, and it seems that the seat always needs adjusting whenever I get in it, but it's only a case of sliding it back a bit (or her sliding it forward). Hardly an onerous task, but if there was a means of setting the limit fore and aft it would be made even easier as you could just bang it from one end to the other of its travel.
