These phone Apps are'nt all they should be, the BMW one was at times a complete PiA when it wouldn't link to the main server & then send the command to the car (it doesn't go direct phone to car)
One example, to save flattening the battery, if you wanted to de-ice the car & set the heater going as soon as you jumped out to scrape the 'screen it shut down because you'd opened the door (FFS !)
So the only other option was to preheat using the App, but of course it's commute time & everyone else is trying to do the same and the BMW server can't handle all the requests & sends you "puter says no"
