The one adjustment to make to the figures is the one for age. What matters most isnt deaths but life years lost. If I die at 75 it is way less of a tragedy than if my son dies at 40 or my grandson at 5. And thats one characteristic ov covid that doesnt apply to flu - the people dying are those like me in gods waiting room.
To my mind the great tragedy of covid is not the deaths of us oldies but the life damage / economic damage done to the younger people.
