John had you taken a tour, you would see the battery is under a bonnet, on the left hand side for your car. Very easy to fit a charger lead. Had you gone around the factory with your eyes open, you might also have noticed that there is NO space under the rear parcel shelf - so you'll have to find somewhere else for a jack!
As for USB sockets - more people now ask for those to power Satnav/phone charge etc. than a 12V cigar lighter - which in many cars nowadays is NOT live with the ignition off.

Hi Graham,
I did take a tour and saw that the battery is under the bonnet and I have a direct connection lead, I have just discovered, in the bag the CTEK came in although it is not fused. I will speak to KH about that and maybe Mr Spanner Juggler ;-) BTW for seven years with the Plus 4 then Roadster I have connected the CTEK through the 12V socket with no problems whatsoever.
I didn't notice on my tour that there was no room for a tool tray under the parcel shelf. I didn't honestly think about that and with hindsight realise I just assumed there would be one. I believe other people have looked at storing a jack under the spare wheel (I think this maybe with classic cars) but I'm yet to find out whether this is possible on a Plus Four. On that note I have been told that 22MY cars ordered with a spare wheel are supplied with a jack and tools in a bag.
Best regards,
John
