Good and interesting posts Matty and in your short ownership period you've pretty we'll experienced it all!
I don't think we are going to get much out of Steve Morris by just winging here, apart from getting things off our chest, what we need to do is to officially ask for a cohesive and doable course of action for all pre 2014 cars, and I think some extra warranty time has to be right up there.
As Matty says, 10 years is out of the question, but would an extra year, plus further extended warranty at a cost, be of interest? I might suggest that something like £100 pa up to, say, 5 years old and maybe 20,000 miles, then £250 pa after that up to 75,000 miles.
I'm not sure they would even consider moving on their policy of charging for a replacement Centa comp. as I suspect they would point out that the price of new cars has risen by £1000 or so, and this could be due to the extra costs of the upgraded gear, including the comp. which is probably being done at cost anyway.
I feel that a solution has to be acceptable to both the company and the owners?
Once we have decided on a reasonable compromise, we can write an open letter to Steve, who I know is quite a reasonable and fair man, within the constraints of having to run a profitable business, with shareholders who will want an explanation and may not be quite so understanding.
He will, of course already know of our proposals, as this is an open forum, but he will need to be approached directly about things.
