The belt is a nice aesthetic touch in my opinion, and there is probably a way to affix some form of a neoprene or soft fabric material to the back of it to prevent or further limit the scratching on the bonnet. I didn't want to bother with the DIY mod, so I decided to forego the belt on my order.
