Gents,

My point is that by taking photographs by owners request of specific builds and placing on a public forum abuses the privilege of being able to have access to the site, when Morgan themselves offer that service at a charge. They are a business, and by doing this it's a breach of trust.

I fully understand people's frustrations with communication, Hell, we've all been THERE, but it's not acceptable practice to blatantly request anyone that's visiting to take photo's of an individual build, chiefly because it can cause so many problems.

For example, assume I see someone's photo of my build and I'm not happy with some detail. I then blast my dealer, with whom I have the contract with, who understandably pats my head and tries to find out more.

The factory then get his blast and takes someone's time & effort to try and establish exactly what the issue is. Now, it has been known for cars to be completely wrong in colour, or interior etc but that's very rare. What's more likely is that it's something that can easily be adjusted/changed or sorted at PDI or similar.

The whole process then becomes a time consuming tail chase and may be nothing in the end, the net result is that people waste time by placating customers on what are in effect, photographic snap shots of a moment in time.

I've suggested to the factory that they install a 'factorycam' internet camera that customers can gain access to via a code from the dealer, that way people can keep looking and seeing, but only from a distance.

It's not about obtaining permissions, Morgan are so generous allowing cameras in there in the first place. Can you imagine JLR or Ford doing this..? Of course not.

It's about not abusing a privilege, or getting for free what would ordinarily cost on a commercial basis.

The big bugbear with the factory is communication. The new director involved is Dennis DeRoos, and he is the one that people are leaning on at the moment. The factory have an annual Dealer Meeting conference in mid-November, so if anyone has any specific issues, they may be well advised to speak to their attending dealer for a better explanation of communication..!
