Actually the French have always been great friends and supporters of the United States, all the way back the Revolutionary war when they helped us trounce our English oppressors!!
And your US Immigration Service must still bear a grudge, being some of the most unfriendly people on the planet.
As for the French; well, as the lovely Lady Budster is half French, I say
