Agreed, a manual cut-out switch will do the job but the Battery Brain will also monitor the voltage and cut out if it drops below 11.8 volts - so you don't need to disconnect the battery every time. When the engine's running the auto cut-off is disabled so the car will keep running if the volts drop further.

Mine's been left for over 5 weeks and with the immobiliser could have run low so it's a safety net rather than a necessity.
