Touch wood, fingers crossed, etc., the car has been running really smoothly and we took it out before Christmas on many trips to the Cotswolds when the weather was very cold but beautiful and sunny. The flying jacket, Norwegian leather helmet with fur lining and heated motorbike gloves meant I could drive in comfort notwithstanding the chilly conditions!
That’s the good news.
The cloud to the silver lining (or, more accurately, the rust to the chromed cowl) is that the front of the car is not looking quite like it should (picture below). The factory have kindly agreed that they will replace the cowl for free but there will be a wait of at least three months as they don’t have any bright work cowls in stock and won’t have for three months as the tooling that is used to produce them is worn and being replaced.
