That's looking good Rog, well done. I'm still contemplating how I'm going to resolve the issue I have with the fan blowing the fuse on the high setting. My fix at the moment is to try and remember not to put the fan onto the highest setting 😁
Gordon just a thought… Richard may be better able to answer this but on later cars I’ve noticed they’ve stuffed what appears to be a couple of fly back diodes in the back of the pcb connector on the blower high and low pins. Could a faulty diode cause your symptoms?

PS - and I believe it’s a 15.1A rated motor with a 15A fuse.

Did you leave behind any of the functionality (when working) of the OE PCB? I'm thinking spot and rear fog inhibits, two speed heater fan etc.
100% functionality Richard. Even my toggles light up
