I was surprised to have issues with Norton seeing others were only complaining about AVG. However Norton, Avast, and AVG are all brands owned by Gen Digital so probably have similar issues.
Regarding prices of cars. I remember when I first found out Morgans existed they had a 5 year waiting list. That surely helped keep the price of seconds hand cars up, even in 2019 I was told it took well over a year to get a car. But now there seems to be a lot of cars for sale and I feel Simon is right that for Trads supply now appears to be outstripping demand.
Back in May 2001 I tried to Import a Nissan Silvia Convertible, for months there was nothing coming up for sale and I ended up getting a car in May 2002 costing me $19,400. When it was written off in 2020 the insurance company paid me $9000 and then sold the wreck for $10,564, later that year I saw a two rusty wrecks sell for close to $20,000 making me think the $9,000 value mine was paid out for was well below market and the insurance company had ripped me off. Now there is a car in very good condition for sale for $23,000 and has been advertised for 4 weeks. Back in 2001/2002 I would have grabbed it, not sure about 2020 but I would think whoever paid $20,000 for a rusty wreck would have jumped at one in good condition for not much more. If I won lotto I would grab it as it was I enjoyed owning something unique and fun to drive but I really like my MGB and I know I am only allowed to have one toy.
I feel that Covid changed the market for a lot of reasons, people with money couldn't spend it on holidays and bought other things like interesting cars pushing the price up for collector style cars. All cars were not available to buy due to lack of parts like computer chips so all cars went up, not sure about elsewhere but Covid in Australia coincided with bad hail storms, bush fires, and flood that wrote off a stack of cars (over 10% of all cars in my state). So a lot of people (including me) needed a replacement car just at a time when the dealers had no stock to sell so basically would buy anything they could get their hands on.
Now the factories are open and as far as I know cars are available, plus we are now getting some new and interesting cars arriving from China, BYD Seal MG4 Xpower and Cyberster etc. that were not even really heard of pre covid we are seeing the opposite where it has gone from a sellers market to a buyer market for all types of cars.
I remember in 2019 there were generally about 90 MGB's for sale (plus others not on the main car sales website) , so when I decided to go ahead with my MGB Frontline build my view was at least there will always be a supply of donor cars to use to build another one if I am unlucky enough for the car to be written off, by mid 2020 it was down to about 10 and I though had I made a mistake on the supply of MGB's, now it is back to 70, so the supply is probably about the same as before. I also look at the Morgans for sale just for fun and there seem to be more now that there ever has been.
