We are just going through a recession and sheading of toys and investment things eg watches, some makes such as fast Fords are still doing remarkably well, most are pre chip and sensors and remarkably well supported infrastructure to keep those vehicles going

Morgans by comparison are very maintenance intensive (in generally declining skill base ) limited infrastructure support base and quite expensive parts etc for Morgan specific parts. Earlier cars have poor build quality and vulnerable materials and treatments often requiring rebuilding, which just make them a more expensive economic proposition to own and repair if you can't or don't want to do it yourself. Spares for some recent models are non existent already and unless factory support of spares makes them available again, the number of cars in use will fall and informed buyers will not enter into that particular market.

The adverse publicity around the recall etc., must have affected all models. as they all look the same to a punter.
