I was reading a topic similar to this on pistonheads recently. Insolvency can result in either a civil matter or criminal, depending on the actions of the company directors in the period leading up to the insolvency declaration. It results in either pure financial matters for creditors to ge reimbursed or prosecution for fraud type offences. Definitely register a claim for the balance of the sale still owed with evidence of the money transfers. That means you would possibly get some money back but how much depends on where you are in the pecking order and what money can be found to do repayments. The norm is that you tend to get a percentage or "x" pence per £ owed. A second thing to be aware of is registering ownership of your items held at the insolvent company. You show proof of ownership so the administrators know that these items are YOUR property and not an asset of the company. This means you can get them back but not always quickly!
