On the bright side, I see the government has realised the iniquity of surcharging foreign-born NHS workers for their medical treatment. Yesterday BJ was saying that it would continue. Today, responding to pressure both from Keir Starmer and critics inside their own party, they have changed their mind and are scrapping it.

Of course the £4.5K (or thereabouts) cost per year per taxpayer of the NHS is unlikely to be raised from a nurse on average wages... but that's a problem of general health system funding, not a problem for those willing to travel abroad to work...
