Bulgaria is relaxing further measures to protect itself against the virus despite the recent rapid rise in corona infections. As of this Monday, the obligation to wear masks in closed public places - such as shops - is to be abolished. In addition, discos, nightclubs and piano bars will be allowed to open again from 15 June. Then parties in closed rooms with up to ten people as well as sporting events, congresses and conferences under corona conditions will also be allowed.
In addition, Bulgaria will also further relax its entry requirements from 15 June, in accordance with regulations published on Sunday. Protective masks in public transport, pharmacies and clinics will continue to be mandatory until the end of June. The tourist country on the Black Sea, however, does not want to open the summer season until July 1. But it is still unclear when the large hotels in the tourist strongholds will resume operations.
In Bulgaria, there were 555 new coronavirus infections between 8 and 14 June, a weekly record since the beginning of the pandemic.
