Just had the message that we're back in on the 22nd June working with Year 10's on subject day basis. It'll be for an intensive 3hr session - for example, Monday they'll come in from 9 till 12 for History, Tuesday will be 9 till 12 Maths etc. then they'll go home afterwards so no breaks or canteen facilities where we would be unable to police social distancing.

We have a two page document on what the school is doing to try and keep teachers safe - maximum 15 pupils in a session/teacher exclusion zone/gloves for resources/72hr quarantine on checking kids work etc. We have a very supportive and compassionate management team, who genuinely care about the welfare of staff (I could give hundreds of examples of this, and equally horror stories of colleagues at different schools/acadamies).

As a result, we are not a very 'unionised' workforce - goodwill goes a very long way, and staff are equally supportive of the school and the school community. We are reasonably unique in this approach, whilst still supporting our respective unions when it comes to national issues (usually with the support of the management),

Fingers crossed it all works......
