I know quite a few here are not in this category, however the majority of the country is.
Total deaths since March 2020 for the under 60's with no underlying health conditions, 307.
Isn't it long overdue that the elderly and vulnerable isolate and leave the rest to it? As others have said this isn't going away anytime soon and even with a vaccine there's no 100% guarantee.
Deaths are not the only issue with Covid19, it has neurological, respiratory and cardiac effects as well. This is tending to more common in younger people and could have significant long term issues.
We also need to consider the effect on health care staff who have to deal with Covid19 patients. They must be paranoid about transmitting the virus from patients to their friends and family.
All diseases carry risks whether life threatening or damage to organs that ruin the rest of your life. Septicaemia kills more people every three months in the UK than Covid has taken from us in 6 months (under 60's) for example, my Father was one of them. Do you stop going to hospital or gardening or cutting our fingers, NO, life has it's risks and it's all about managing those risks and I'm afraid to say getting on with it. Like TBM is by going to the cafe`. Yes there's a risk but so is going to his school everyday. Same as I and my staff have risked everyday since the outbreak in supporting Care Homes and Doctors surgeries in functioning the same as before. We IMO cannot stay behind closed doors or masks and think that will solve the problem. It may reduce, it may slow it down but it's not the solution. I have no bloody idea what that solution is and I'm sad to say neither do the medical professionals or the Government or any Politician for that matter it appears to me anyway.
