Something to do with the cost of parts and the delays, apparently if they are damaged it can take weeks and the insurance company has to fork out for a hire car.

Yes, they are Group 49 or 50, but then what do you expect for a car with 450 bhp, or 500 bhp ( £1500 software download for the extra 50) and a 0-60 of 3.7 seconds?
Yes, the slow availability of parts is also true.
NFU don't want them, so £1000 a year plus £1000 excess.
LV and Direct line charge the same as an equivalent ICE car.

One report I read said that the "equivalent MPG is 127: not sure how that is derived. .
