I'd of thought it was more to do with weight and range. If your adding 1 ton of batteries to a 2 ton vehicle its going to be a struggle to maintain a decent range with the current battery technology. Think Hydrogen will be like diesel was years ago mainly in commercial type vehicles. Certainly interesting reading all the potential new variants that are being tested.
