pure guess... take an NEDC test, and the cost & consumption of electricity, mapping it to a petrol cost and extrapolating an MPG equivalent?

While it seems reasonable to attempt to help drivers understand the relative efficiency of different fuels, if my i8 gets 156.9mpg on NEDC, I'd expect a Tesla to be better, not worse!
