The new MPG will be kW/m or energy used per mile (km for our EU/metric friends) to compare BEV to BEV. It does not seem to be happening yet but no doubt will. I have noticed things like the Cd of Tesla is very slippery.

BEV's will be judged by how many kW they use for a given distance. If you mix this with the £/kW you get a cost per mile for the energy. It is easy to do the same for MPG and cost per L or Gal. This is quite eye opening.

However the comments re lack of brake disc/pad use due to regenerative braking, lack of service costs for oil change etc amount to a noticeable difference when you run a ballistic lorry like my ML63 for example. I just had to do discs and pads front and rear and it came to £1200. A service is £800. Tax is £600 now.
