That definately looks like the one Dave, an eight way connector with just two wires as mentioned thumbs It also fits in with proximity to cig lighter socket wires which branch from same area.

It simply doesn't make sense to re-invent the wheel and run in fresh wiring when MMC have provided it for you.

Whilst on this subject I wish folk would stop banging on about the infamous PCB in this case, it just adds unjustified doubt and confusion. As explained I've traced the wiring for such from battery through to actual lights and it routes, via three fuses admittedly, with simple connections and no interaction by anything other than sidelight stalk switch and certainly not the PCB. Furthermore there must have been a few cars of that era spec'd with fog or spot lamps factory fitted from new, and I've seen no reports of their failure. Sorry for rant.
