I wouldn't worry too much about LED colour Dave just choose your preference. You can always buy a variant with higher lumen output, if not now then in the future. From a practical point of view daylight white seem to be best for nightime illumination. Certainly the LED strip lights in my garage with three selectable colour temperatures between warm and daylight white are all set to the latter.

I have to confess I'm a bit of a geek for the backdating thing, so for me the yellow glass globes are essential, when you look into the reflector with the lamp off they deliver that delightful vintage car golden glow effect I love so much.
The lesson I soon learnt when I first tried these yellow glass globes over a set of pure white LED H4s was that this combination produces a truly hideous lime green light
, when I finally stopped laughing I switched to warm white LED H4s and the traditional yellow light output I wanted was achieved and with that all important golden glow with the lamps off.
This time I went with yellow for the Marchal LEDs because yellow is offered and I had read somewhere if you're using a filter, in my case the yellow globes, you lose less light if you start out with an LED thats producing the same colour, from memory this came from someone converting yellow lens fogs to LED bulbs, but lets see how it all plays out on Monty
