On a freezing foggy morning today at the Taffmog Christmas at Llandrindod Wells weekend 4 of us went North to Aberdyfi. Went via Rhayader, Llangurig then up past the Clywedog reservoir in the hills to Aberdifi. The new Dyfi Bridge is coming along nicely and should be open for next summer. The weather up there was fine but fairly cool. Stunning views from the hilltops due to the crip clear air. Return was via Tywyn then down towards Aberystwyth. No planes using the Mach Loop as it’s Saturday. A44 back to Rhayader then Llandrindod. It had stayed foggy and icy there all day but some spectacular frost covered trees on the route. Roads conditions were good.
Weather is due to get rainy tomorrow so route for the next drive will be decided in the morning.
