My car pinks under load and heavy throttles, but I was told at the recent annual service that the software was up to date. There's something slightly fishy going on with this software thing, as some folk report upgrades that work well, others report upgrades that seem to significantly damage performance, and some (like me!) are told they have the latest software but there is still pinking.
Anyone have a definitive statement on this, and roughly when the software versions were changed??
I wouldn't want to lose 'poke' but wouldn't want to take my car on a track at present because I have heard that you can blow a hole in the piston if you really try... So if the software is up to date is there another problem? (I only use highest octane UK petrol (Shell).
