I have recovered my clutch pedal this afternoon with coarse emery cloth. I had a good look at the brake pedal extension tube and the weld(s) on it. The tubular extension on my pedal seems to be in one piece with the master cylinder actuator lever and the weld on the tube is at the pedal end of the tube. Now whether there is another weld at the accelerator side of the actuator lever, I cannot say, as I can't see it. The weld looks very neat on the pedal base and there is no paint flaking or other signs of distress at the moment but my M3W has only done 8200km since new in April 2012. My car is LHD.
