Or taking the car that the average UK punter has some hope of being able to buy, as opposed to something from Tesla or Germany that are well out of their price range.

Best selling new cars in the UK so far this year? 1. Vauxhall Corsa - £16-23K 2. Ford Fiesta - £16 - £20K.

Find me a good, long range, cheap charging EV in that price bracket.

As I've said before, I'm not anti EV - I'd have a Tesla at the drop of a hat. I also really like the look of that Hyundai from the programme. We just need to be a little more realistic about how much cash people have, and how they're going to charge them. I invite anyone to come to my street in the evening and explain how all the double parked cars lining the road are going to get charged. You can also come and play Morgans and drink Cider.
