) The three wires you showed in close up appear to be a blue/yellow and two red/orange. If so then note the two similar colour ones both come from the same bombtail and are both live when side or headlamps selected. You of course only need two wires to fog switch so the second red/orange would remain redundant. I think we have to accept the nature of termination of these fog light wires as female spade connectors is an undocumented variation in the published schematics but it makes little difference to their function.
The blue/yellow colour is used exclusively for front auxiliary lighting so that wire will feed to front. It would be a simple task to check fog light function with a jumper between the two under dash fog wires once they are hooked up to your lights at the front. You would just need to source and fit a simple illuminating toggle switch then. Let us know of progress.
