Visited the Morgan factory yesterday, covered a 350 mile round trip mostly motorways, with some enjoyable country lanes over the 2 days. Car performed very well, especially in the series of major holdups on the M6 heading back up to the North West today, and amazingly economical doing over 45 mpg, which considering the lengthy holdups and traffic congestion experienced is quite impressive , The April sunshine was great, a little cool at motorway speeds with the hood down, a pleasing change from the winter gloom.

It had been 8 years since my last factory tour and lots had changed, there certainly seems to be far more outsourcing of components and more just assembly, I was expecting the wood fabrication area to have shrunk post the trad passing, but it appeared to be a shadow of its former self. The 3 wheeler assembly area was now part of the trim shop, which may be indicative that sales may not be doing too well, compared with my last visit. .Quite a few of the cars in different stages of assembly were destined for the US, with some very traditional paint and trim schemes, which where more reflective of earlier models and earlier times, for some it was a very 70's look.,

I was quite impressed with the Supersport, up close and in the flesh, it is a very impressive car in the shade of blue. The boot is full when the side screens are in there. Sue's 5 foot nothing couldn't see much over the bonnet, I'm not sure whether they have seat height adjustment, but if not I might struggle to justify getting one if Sue cant adjust the seat enough to be comfortable to drive it, But she did prefer it over the Plus Four.
