My EV always has a full tank in the morning, my 2 V8's generally don't nor do any of my other cars or bikes.
So in reality for most peoples usage on a day to day basis there is no need to stop at a fuel station to fill up. Much more efficient! Of course if a quick cuppa or comfort break is needed then a 10 minute top up will add 60 to 100 miles to the tank with my EV.
However, in my own circumstances I do a higher than average annual mileage and am happy to trade off the extra hour charging to save around £9-10,000 of petrol cost. The hour can be utilised having a bit of lunch or dinner or making a few calls, email catch up etc.
I, like you, do a fair few miles in a year i.e. 35k +. I am getting closer to getting an EV, however I cannot make it quite work for me...yet!
