No doubt to the horror of some I bought an MG5 EV last December.

Cost worked out about £23k taking into account the value of my trade in.
It's a Chinese car that looks like a VW Passat estate that's been in a crash.
Once past the badge snobbery thing (it's obviously nothing like a traditional MG, but then again neither was a Montego):
It's as fast as my plus4 - if not faster
It's comfortable and spacious
It's competent within its boundaries but it's no sports car and should not be driven like one.
It's actually quite well built and gets a seven year warranty.
It's cheap to run and insure.

As a practical backup to the Morgan I (currently) have no regrets
