Well now it seems like the dust has settled on the “debate” I thought I’d share my two-peneth.
I saw the cars in the flesh on Tuesday, and they are very impressive.
The fit & finish even on the pre production units was streets ahead of my Six.
The door mechanisms seem much better, as does the side screen fixing and removal.
Aesthetically I’m still a bit undecided.
I love the back and the boot is very slick.
Those forged wheels on the lilac car looked amazing too, and I think just 8kg per corner vs 11/12kg of the normal 19” wheels.
I don’t love the shape of the hard top, although the engineering is impressive. Huge glass window, carbon fibre roof and just 7kg I think I heard.
But it’s the front that I struggle with. It’s not the traditional vs modern thing, I’m just not sure it works for me.
Somehow to my eye, it makes the car look taller and narrower, although I know it isn’t.
But it is slowly growing on me, so I’m certainly prepared to eventually love it.

As others have said, all that have driven it claim it’s a significant step forward in handling.
I’m looking forward to driving one in the coming months.
I certainly commend the boldness of the change & I’m sure it will be a commercial success.
