They make their own faggots, pork and game pies, sausage rolls and a few other wonderful things!

The smoked trout is prepared in house, they have a smoker round the back and all the trout is locally caught.

All their meat is properly aged and they also butcher game for customers.

Yes the sawdust adds to the local "authenticity", as do the ladies who take the money: the guys behind the counter do not touch money, it is in their view, unhygienic. Another "old time" feature is they shut for lunch, 1 hour from 1pm to 2pm.

Sadly they are no longer allowed to hang eat, birds and so on from hooks in the window.
