Agree, financial sense.

When I was young I'd drive from Twickenham to Dyce in one go, in a Hillman Avenger. I'd start in the summer at about 5am and it took about 12 hours. I'd stop 3 or 4 times for coffee and fuel.
Back in the day the border was, in time, half way. No dual carriageway after Sterling!

Today? Not sure I'f I'd want to do that trip the same way. I'm 40 years older and the traffic is a lot heavier. The cars are better, it has to be said!
