First day of the year, first drive of the year....
Down to the White Buck pub, just outside Burley in the New Forest to be part if the annual classic car meet.

Arrived early... a magical drive on deserted roads through the forest as the sun rose.

We got there at 9, by 10 the place was heaving with mostly British classics, ranging from a 1939 Austin Ruby to a 1904 Maudsly.. the inevitable E Types, Tr 3,4 &,5, and many others.
The Austin Ruby was unusual, first registered in early 1939 and then as War was declared hidden away in a dry barn where she sat until 2000. A sensitive restoration, most of the paint is original and perfect. The car has now run just under 700 miles from leaving the factory.

Maximum cruising speed is about 35mph.... not sure I'd want to drive one on modern roads!
