Talking of todays pay for hard working youngsters I see Elon Musk is in court with shareholders defending his Tesla pay package that’s in the region of the current UK annual defence budget. Apparently the justification is “keeping him focussed on Tesla and not other pet projects.” One guy….really?
Try not to compare that with a normal world, it will only disappoint you!
The valley has it's own rules for how things are done. He has some unusual traits as a person, different but maybe not bad. Paypal was a very early Unicorn (massive success that is rare to see) He is wildly smart but has the social challenge of autism so has no filter which is what gets him in the do do. Sadly he has little respect for any authourity even when it is to his own detriment. He loves getting a rise out of people that annoy him.
One friend that worked for him left after two years, best comment was - Thank god I only worked there for ten years.
I admire much of his thinking but wish there was a musk muzzle that could be remotely applied to help him.
