UPDATE ON XF14 AEF

My beloved M3W was asked once again to draw the public's attention to the Morgan brand, and, according to the portuguese dealer, it excelled at doing it in the latest SALAO MOTORCLASSICO event. I placed it there with the UK plate (just the rear one), as can be seen from this picture

Here a view from the front:

And a view from the hall's entrance:

Also I learned from the dealer that a second M3W is coming to this litle corner of Europe. Apparently it is the car that was on display at Geneva, he was there and with a client and apparently he loved that car and bought it there and then. And the same person, previous owner of a 4/4, will sell it because he decided to order a Brooklands Roadster ... considering the exchange rates recent and predicted future evolution, I hope for his sake that MMC delivers quickly.

(side note, just so you guys in the UK realize whats's happening to us Euro currency users:

My M3W's price last August

29.320,83 GBP = 37077,36 € + VAT (23%) = 45605,15 €

My M3W's price if bought today

29.320,83 GBP = 40627,45 € + VAT (23%) = 49971,76 €

4.300,00 € more expensive just because of currency flutuation, almost 10% increase in a few months! I imagine the impact this must have on bigger and more expensive cars.

Meh ... on the bright side, glad I bought it when I did ...

But let's go back to posting interesting stuff and update on my beloved M3W's condition. Here goes:

1 - The 3rd exhaust set is doing good, I'm starting to think this one is the real deal. 2.000 kms clocked with these, that's already twice the distance exhausts #1 and #2 did (about 1000 kms each). Fingers crossed!

2 - The 2nd Suplex suspension kit is giving me a hard time.

2.1 - THE REAR - is too hard, I think I'm going to try to set it as soft as possible and then work from there. The guys in the shop say they fitted them as instructed with the dampers on full hard, and then they dialed 15 (of 70 possible) clicks towards the soft setting. I think I will try 15 clicks FROM the softer possible setting and see how that one works out

2.2 - THE FRONT - It is also a bit too jhard now, they say they set it at 10 clicks from hardest setting, I'll try some more until I'm satisfied.

However ...

The clearance issue raised its ugly head again. It won't happen often, but a more pronounced bump will make the right exhaust header hit the bottom of the spring.

This, evidently, cannot be, and I'm still puzzled by how can it- all of it - be possible. But the mechanic told me it might indeed be that this is an issue with my car and my car alone, due to what he suspects is a faulty right exhaust header. One that he says is SHORTER than it should. And he demonstrated this to me with two pictures he took with his smartphone. As you can see in them, the left header ends up farther away from the center of the vehicle than the right header. The turn signals were used as reference points to draw a vertical line from them ( I lack the English words to explain what's in the picture, but you guys can see it clearly I assume)

Here the pictures:

LEFT SIDE

Before I jump to any conclusion (and if the conclusion is that my right exhaust header is defective then I will ask for a new one ...), I'd like to call on my fellow TMers that are also M3W owners and ask them to take, and post here (or send me by email to mcp@cps.com.pt , if you prefer) the same pictures, but of their own cars. Left side and Right side, with a vertical line from each turn signal.

Hope you guys can help me out with this ... I'm really next to quitting the Suplex suspension altogether. And it's a shame because it transforms the car's handling (front) for the better.

Thanks!
