I finally pick up my car with new chassis on Tuesday 13th after 12 weeks. I had almost forgotten how good it is to drive. It went very well via Blairgowrie, Glenshee & Braemar. I got to properly test with front exhaust baffle drilled out & its good. The dealer removed £834 from my wallet to pay for the centa compensator parts, MMC paid labour. It has the HVH kit which seems to make no real difference only changing the bevel box peak noise to around 40mph & it still almost disappears above 60mph. I dont think the noise is any less. It will now be more difficult to change BB oil. There are some issues with the rebuild. The steering is off centre 15deg CW masking the tacho with the spoke. It was road tested by MMC & dealer, did they not notice? The head lamp aim is off. Though the road was only damp in places & one small shower on getting home there was some water in the footwell So I'll have to reseal floor to chassis. The velcro on the drivers mat has gone but the mats were very clean. The sound damping under th seats has gone so presumably all my taping gaps behind the seats & sound damping is missing also. I made a map pocket with 2 wooden struts between the tubes & it now does not fit properly, spacing is wider.
