Well Gary the truth will out - when acquaintances and friends ask me about the new Morgan 3 wheeler I tell them the truth (as written by M3W owners on here) not some "rose tinted" view of them that some people have. I don't want any of them suffering at the wheel of one on my recommendation, I value my friends and acquaintances.
I steer them in the Morgan 4 wheeled direction.
Richard, I don’t think anyone who has actually owned a M3W looks at it through rose tinted spectacles. We are all only too familiar with its issues and myself more than most as I am now on my second one (having initially bought a 2013 one, which had all the familiar problems with the early cars and had to go back to the dealer on the back of a breakdown truck at least twice in the 12 months I had it, and more recently a 2017 one, which ended up breaking down and returning to the dealer on a breakdown truck on each of its first two journeys from the dealer). You may well ask (my wife and kids did all the time!) why I bought a second one after all the problems I had with the first. For me, it is because, notwithstanding all the problems, the car is unique and attracts more attention than any other vehicle on the road, from all age groups (from young kids, to teenagers, to adults and OAPs) and from all other road users (including motorcyclists as well as car drivers). It brings joy to others whenever you drive it: as you go through town, pedestrians hear it coming, turn around and then a big smile spreads across their face; and whenever you park it or fill it up at a petrol station, someone comes and speaks to you about it. Of course, some times the attention is not so welcome: on recent rips to France and Switzerland, we were often getting overtaken on the dual carriageways by someone in the fast last doing 80 mph and holding his steering wheel in one hand and his camera in the other as he videoed us as he flew past! I also have a C Type Jag (a Proteus one) and it gets nowhere near as much attention as the M3W (and, in fact, is even less reliable than the Morgan now that my new M3W has (fingers crossed it continues this way) got over its initial problems and has completed more than 3,000 miles over the last 6 weeks on trips through France, Germany and Switzerland with no significant issues at all). The other unexpected benefit to owning the car has been the camaraderie amongst owners that others have already mentioned. In my experience, M3W owners are a disparate group from all sorts of backgrounds and are not, I suspect, your typical Morgan owners but all have been great to spend time with and unfailing in the help and support they give to each other and especially the more mechanically challenged amongst us like me! It sometimes feels a bit like it us M3W owners contra mundum but I rather like that (and it was definitely me contra familiam given the grief I got from my family when I bought my second one!). Looked at purely rationally, it is difficult to justify the purchase of a M3W and I can well understand why many will choose not to. For me, however, some times the heart has to rule the head and I can honestly say that I have had the best times, and met some of the best people, on the various trips I have done this year with Red Leader and the rest of the M3W Squadron. Any way, that’s enough from me on the pleasure (and pain) of M3W ownership!

Shaun, thank you very much for the history of your M3W journey very interesting and quite clear that you either are or you are not smitten by these machines and you really are the later. I empathise greatly with this as my love affair with the Plus 8 began when I was 21 and could not be fulfilled until I was 50 and it's like a right arm to me. The joy Morgan's bring to others is the great discovery of my 14 years ownership, everyone turns around when the exhaust barks and smiles not a sign of jealousy or envy which is a lovely thing.
Do we get to see pictures of your C type you are a lucky boy . Am I understanding the frame situation correctly that the pre 2017 one's will be replaced by the factory but we must not call it a recall or is that not the case.
Reading the Treffen reports you boys and girls have a very special bond without doubt and long may it continue.

Guys It's pre January 2014 built cars. We have not had any failures or replaced a chassis on anything later (unless it's accident damage)
