Thank you for your response to my latest post but as I understand it (please forgive me if I am wrong), your answers to the questions from OZ 4/4 were related purely to the original cracking problems that first appeared in 2014.
I was one of the people that was offered and had fitted (free of charge) the bolted-in chassis brace and I am very grateful for that.

As you are no doubt aware there are a couple of other possibly dangerous problems that have only come to light recently and are featured in other posts. (I know this is a post drift but I think it is relevant).

These are:-
a) Cracks close to the lower front wishbone mounting point (and in some cases the lug is breaking away from the chassis). These were discovered in June this year and my car was one of the 5 that were originally found to have this problem. Mark Baldwin reacted very well and our cars were repaired with new modified lugs welded on at the factory.
The factory must have thought that the cracks could be dangerous because Mark requested that on no account should we drive them until they were repaired.

b) There have been 2 cases recently of the old original style brake pedal (with the M3W cutouts) having a weld failure where the master cylinder actuating lever is attached to the spindle.
If this occurs, it results in a total inability to apply the brakes. I would consider this to be fairly dangerous.


In respect to the points (a and b) mentioned above, what would your response be to the original questions put to you by OZ 4/4?

I am sorry if your time is taken up answering these posts but it would not be needed if these problems had not come to light.

Even given these problems I get a great deal of pleasure from driving my M3W.
