It's happening right now. How many young people do you know who are able to afford to buy a house at the age you were when you bought your first property?
...or begin their working lives free from student debt, end their working lives by benefitting from a generous final-salary pension, or inherit anything from parents who will become impoverished through care-home fees?
Tim is, sadly, quite correct. There is an inversion in generational wealth.
I used to wish I had been born later - now I feel I am at the tail-end of the lucky generations (no FS pension or inheritance, but minimal student debt got me early on the property and stockmarket investment ladder thank God...)
