Agreed Paul, but 2009 is being organized by 'Consultants'
I am not sure that is entirely correct. There might be confusion between the logo and the Centenary.
Though I have not, admittedly, been tracking Centenary details closely for some time, I recall that the Centenary arrangements are being done in-house by the MMC. For this purpose, they formed a separate company called Morgan Centenary Celebrations Ltd.
It was managed originally by three company employees under Mr. Tim Whitworth (the MMC controller), and one representative each from the MSCC and the MTWC. However, I believe that has changed to four MMC employees and one outside community rep. I had not heard of any outside consultancy. I am sure Mr. Whitworth will do a fine job!
It is the Company announcement on the new logo that mentioned outside "consultants". These are Liquid Communications Ltd. You will known them well from their very successful campaign in the UK for "Smoothies" or for their ads for Danone, the yogurt and bottled water company.
Liquidcom had approached the Works through a single director three years ago but were turned down (then) by Management. Apparently, according to the October MMC announcement, they came up a wings logo since that captured the hearts of board and the Morgan family. A canvas of the Agents or other market polling was not done.
